The trendy area! The red light district is no longer what it used to be. Today the area has been taken over by trendsetters, tattooists and young professionals and it is the cool hang out and going out spot. We will introduce you to the up and coming art galleries in the old Meat City, and all the funky cafes and contemporary ethnic restaurants, well worth a visit. The world famous Carlsberg Brewery is also based in this area. It is going through a major development creating a new Carlsberg City with small gardens opening up to the public.
The city within the city! We give you the whole story about the prestigious old theaters, large town houses, streets lined with trees and classical architecture, beautiful gardens and the palace. The area is also home for Royal Copenhagen, the world known Danish porcelain factory. We will also guide you to classic interior, fashion and deli shops.
The old working class area! This area is inspired by ethnic immigration, world culture and a mix of designers, students, writers and other locals. The community in this area is known for its past with youth riots as well as the historic graves of Hans Christian Andersen and Søren Kierkegaard. Do not get lost – as we will guide you through the area and the most desirable antiques and Danish classic furniture design shops, with famous furniture design – like Arne Jacobsen.
The oldest area! We give you all the quirky stories about the city and introduce you to the back streets. Let us show you areas like Pisserenden, which was the hot spot for artists, musicians and fashion designers in the 70’s. Pass by second-hand clothes shops, the French area, cool restaurants and cafes, and see plenty of Scandinavian history, culture and architecture.
The exclusive area! The houses, embassies and buildings date back to the 18 century and is the most recently built of the areas around the city. The architecture is stunning and we will show you some of the finest organic delis and clothes shops, the national football stadium and the central park. Get the stories and have a wander through Kastellet, the best preserved fortifications in Northern Europe and just next to The Little Mermaid.
The old military harbour and houseboat area! It has a nautical ambience and is a must see. Beautiful old buildings, paved streets and history that dates back to the 16th century. Let us show you Holmen, known for the new Opera House and the independent community Christiania. Here you will also find The Royal Academy of Architecture and be inspired by the relaxed atmosphere in the most amazing scenery.
The old industrial area! Is located by the harbour and recently had a full makeover. Old factories have been turned into penthouse apartments and the waterfront has
become a great outdoor spot with a pool, playground and an area for cultural happenings, used by all of Copenhagen’s citizens. We will show you what the area has to offer, the stories, and introduce you to all the established contemporary art galleries and artists studio workspaces.
