The company is owned and operated by Charlotte Dinesen and Simona Hjaltalin from the Office of Strandvejen in Hellerup. Both have extensive experience in lifestyle management from France and England.
The name Frauhaus …
… Inspired by the German Bauhaus Design, founded in 1919.
Bauhaus was based on principles from the English designer William Morris and Arts and Crafts “movement’s ideas about art should meet the needs of society and that there was a distinction between the arts and practical crafts. The direction is also based on the more forward-looking approach to modern art and architecture should exploit the opportunities offered by the modern production techniques gave. A good design should not only be aesthetic standards but also be good engineering. The school taught, in subjects such as crafts, typography, industrial design, painting and sculpture and architecture. Bauhaus style – later also known as “International Style” – was characterized by its absence of ornamentation, its clean interface and by harmony between function, aesthetics and manufacturing considerations.
Name Frauhaus stood for since we first and foremost as our “product” as a service which always meets customer needs, a unifying force of creativity and skilfully crafts, and last came the little difference f’et for femmes.
